Mr. Sheldon T. Anderson was recently named Chairman & CEO of Grove Bank and Trust. Previously, President and CEO of the Southeast Region for the Northern Trust Company. He served as an Executive Vice President of The Northern Trust Company since February 2012. Mr. Anderson serves as President of Riverside Ho. He served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and Interim President at The Beacon Council Inc. from November 1, 2016 to June 1, 2017.
Sheldon retired in December 2012 from his position as chairman and chief executive officer of the Southeast Region at Northern Trust but continued to support the company as a consultant. He was responsible for managing the company’s investment management, trust and estate planning, private and business banking, and financial consulting business in Florida and Georgia.
He served as an Advisor of The Beacon Council Inc. He served as the Chief Executive Officer for Southeast Region of Northern Trust Corporation since September 22, 2009.
He served as President of Northern Trust Bank of Florida for Miami-Dade County since 2003, where he was responsible for all banking, trust and investment activities. He served as Senior Vice President and Senior Banking Officer for Miami-Dade County with responsibility for Private Banking, International Banking, Commercial Lending and the Aventura, Key Biscayne, Doral and Coral Gables offices of Northern Trust. He joined Northern Trust in 1992.
He served as Senior Vice President at Southeast Bank where he spent 19 years. He served as the Chairman of the Board at The Beacon Council Inc. and served as its Director until June 12, 2017. He has been a Director at U.S.
In addition to his Miami Dade Beacon Council involvement, he is on the Board of Trustees of Baptist Health South Florida, Board of Directors of U.S. Stem Cell, Inc., Miami Dade College Foundation, New World Symphony, Executive Committee of the United Way of Miami Dade County, Institute of Contemporary Art and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart.
