Miami International Airport (MIA) is one of Miami-Dade County’s most important economic engines and a world-class facility that connects our community to the world. Airlines serving MIA fly nonstop to 47 destinations in the United States and Canada, 32 in the Caribbean and The Bahamas, 24 in South America, 13 in Central America and 14 throughout Europe and the Middle East. With 38.3 million passengers traveling through MIA in 2011, our airport ranks as the world’s 26th busiest airport, according to preliminary estimates by Airports Council International. As an air cargo center, MIA ranked 10th worldwide and 1st in the United States in 2010.
