Miami-Dade Companies add 108 jobs 
Miami-Dade’s Beacon Council announces more good news with the expansion of two local businesses and an opening of a global office, bringing more than 100 new jobs within three years to our community. 

“Creating a business climate that ensures companies are able to easily locate and expand to create jobs in our community is the Miami-Dade Beacon Council’s top priority,” said The Miami-Dade Beacon Council President & CEO Larry K. Williams. “Our economic development team provided the customized assistance these companies needed to grow and locate here. Those free and confidential services are available to a wide variety of businesses, both small and large.”

The Miami-Dade Beacon Council worked with these companies by providing:

* High-level Direction with Location Selection
* Tactical Research & Marketing Analysis
* Assistance in obtaining State and Local Incentives
* Labor and Training Assistance

The three businesses locating or growing in Miami-Dade County with assistance of The Miami-Dade Beacon Council are:

MSH Group, a global talent acquisition, outsourcing and management consulting firm opened a new office in Miami adding 63 new jobs and $100,000 in new capital investment within three years. The company uses technology to redefine the expectations about talent acquisition, outsourcing and management consulting services including internally developed processes, client service methodology, technology automation and a data driven business model.
CEEPCO Contracting – CEEPO is a Maryland based company expanding to Miami-Dade County by setting up an office in North Miami. The company is a design-build minority owned consulting firm providingy technical support and services to private organizations as well as government agencies. It will be bringing 35 new full time jobs and investing $85,000 to the Miami-Dade County area over the next three years. 
PME Port– This Miami-based wholesale food distribution and transloading company is expanding to a new location of 15,000 square feet, investing $25,000 and creating 10 new full time jobs over the next three years.The company offers American food products to businesses in and around the Caribbean. PME Port also caters to local supermarkets and other food retail businesses. 

Consul General of Ireland Shares Optimism about European Union, Brexit and Miami-Dade County 
 
Consul General Stephens mentioned Miami’s advantage in the tech industry as Gateway to Latin America. 
 
Consul General of Ireland Shane Stephens provided a special presentation on Ireland, the European Union and Brexit during a business round table discussion at The Miami-Dade Beacon Council on Aug. 9. Topics included how Ireland has become the top destination for U.S. multinational investment and the economic bond between the U.S. and Ireland. Ireland is targeting Latin America as a way to grow its tech and aviation industries. 
Consul General Stephens discussed how Miami’s strategic location and multilingual, multicultural workforce is an advantage in growing a tech hub. Brexit is affecting the European economy and is likely to affect it in the future. This development may impact Miami as some of its main markets are located in Europe. Consul General Stephens was optimistic about Ireland’s future as the country’s low corporate tax of 12.5% and talented high-tech laborers have encouraged business investment.

Miami-Dade Business Groups Continue to Support Wynwood Community
 
Miami-Dade business organizations are demonstrating the importance of coming together to support the Wynwood area in light of the Zika virus. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Miami-Dade Beacon Council urged followers to continue to patronize Wynwood businesses this past weekend and in the future. The Miami Downtown Development Authority provides Zika resources on its website www.miamidda.com

Good News Commuters: 
Brightline Trains Will Be Running From Miami To West Palm Beach by This Time Next Year
All Aboard Florida is on track to begin Brightline passenger train service between Miami and West Palm Beach in less than a year.

Executive Certificate Program at FIU

In this 2-day advanced certificate program, participants will engage academics, industry leaders, and security professionals in assessing the most critical cyber threats facing the public and private sectors in the 21st century. Participants will learn best practices about organizational structures, processes, and legal considerations. Participants will also be exposed to strategies and the most effective approaches to implementing strategies in the workplace. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn an Executive Certificate in Cybersecurity Leadership and Strategy from Florida International University.

Aviation Winner: FEAM
FEAM is a MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) company providing aircraft line maintenance services to a variety of domestic and international air carriers flying transport category aircraft. The company has maintenance bases in about a dozen
U.S. locations including its headquarters at Miami International Airport. The company also has a presence at U.S. military bases. They employ approximately 500 aircraft mechanics/line maintenance engineers throughout the system. The company is providing specialized training to its employees in order to work with international airlines.
