The Global Tech Community Gathers for this Year’s eMerge Americas Conference

The tech communities from the countries of Columbia, Israel and Belarus were there, as were hundreds of startups, local universities and companies from around the world. More than 13,000 attendees packed conference rooms and exhibit floor to see keynote speakers: Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple; Armando Perez, aka “PitBull,” Cesar Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprise and two-time Emmy Award-winning television host and personal finance expert Suze Orman.
Miami-Dade Beacon Council President & CEO Michael Finney also addressed the crowd during a “Textpert” session where he spoke about Amazon’s recent expansion plans in Miami and The Miami-Dade’s Beacon Council role in assisting businesses expand and grow in multicultural Miami-Dade County.
This year’s eMerge Americas conference was the first event in the newly refurbished Miami Beach Convention Center. The purpose of the two-day platform is to advance technology through idea exchange, and act as a launching pad for innovation while connecting with technology communities in Latin America, North America, and Europe.
