Pinecrest is a suburban village in southwestern Miami-Dade County incorporated in 1996. Pinecrest consists mostly of single family homes and some commercial areas and has some of the highest rated public schools in Miami-Dade County. Pinecrest was honored with the Playful City USA designation for the fifth time since 2012. Playful City USA honors cities and towns across the country for putting the needs of families first so children can learn, grow and develop important life skills.
