This small village located between Miami and Miami Beach was created by dredging and landfilling in the 1940s. It is connected to the mainland and Miami Beach via the John F. Kennedy Causeway. It is home to several popular restaurants, a variety of business enterprises, waterfront recreational opportunities, apartment buildings, condominiums and several hundred single-family homes.
