The New Leaders Taskforce is focused on developing future leaders to support economic development in Miami-Dade County. The Taskforce works on programs and initiatives to cultivate a vibrant and growing community of talented young professionals who are vested in Miami-Dade County’s future growth, including leadership roles within The Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

The Taskforce aims to inspire increased collaboration and partnership with other local young professional’s groups, sharing the goal of talent retention in Miami-Dade.

New Leaders Taskforce Committee

The New Leaders Taskforce has created a strong, exclusive group of young professionals directly connected to the public and private sector leadership of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council and its investors. The New Leaders Taskforce started as a loosely built network intended to provide new leadership opportunities for the community’s economic development strategy. It has evolved into a strong lattice that involves professionals referrals, professional and personal networking, community service and social friendships. The taskforce meets regularly with established and recognized local business leaders to learn about Miami and its evolution as a world city. The My Miami Annual Symposium provides a forum for leaders to discuss different aspects of Miami’s rise as a business destination and top city to live and work.

Taskforce Goals:

(1) Provide opportunities for young professionals to engage in economic development related activities to support the Miami-Dade Beacon Council’s strategy to market, grow, shape Miami-Dade.

(2) Work closely with educational institutions and students to support brain gain through talent retention strategies

(3) Create meaningful opportunities to get to know experienced community leaders
