Amy Vega is a Business Development Fellow at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council. She is graduating with her B.A. in Economics from Florida International University in Desanm 2026. In her role on the Business Development team, she supports projects focused on strengthening and expanding Miami-Dade’s business community. She assists with research, outreach, and coordination efforts that help local companies grow while also supporting initiatives that attract new businesses to the region. Her work includes helping organize information for prospective firms, contributing to economic reports, and collaborating with team members to highlight the advantages of investing and operating in Miami-Dade County.
Amy brings a background in nonprofit and community work, where she has been involved in outreach, event planning, and programs centered on equity and community development. She also has several years of experience in hospitality management, where she developed strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills while working directly with diverse groups of people. These experiences shaped her interest in how local economies function at both the community and business levels.
She is especially passionate about supporting sustainable economic growth in Miami. Amy believes that a strong local economy benefits not only businesses but also families, workers, and neighborhoods. Her long-term goal is to continue working in roles that connect community development, business support, and public-interest initiatives, contributing to a thriving and inclusive economic future for Miami-Dade County.
