InBattle, a Chile-based software developer and operator of virtual reality and free roaming gaming experience announced the official opening date of its state-of-the-art VR arena on July 7, 2022, in the heart of the arts district in Wynwood. This concept allows players to team up with friends and get inside digital battlefields to compete with other teams. The 3000 square-foot space arena is designed and equipped for VR team battles, up to 8 players simultaneously (4 versus 4), enjoying free movement inside the arena without cables attached.

“The experience has been designed using different gaming mechanics such as characters and skills selection, that will allow players to customize their teams’ strategies, making the experience very dynamic and competitive,” said Cristobal Baixas, InBattle founder. “We have been working hard to bring something new to the gaming industry; aiming to have a deeply immersive experience that will allow players to really feel they are inside the game, in the characters skin, with all the adrenaline and excitement of a battle arena.”

The arena’s focus is to implement the VR immersive solutions that incorporates high physical movement and interaction, both for location base experiences and for home users.  “In the last few years, we have seen the physical and digital worlds start blending in different markets, like the crypto currency in the financial market, and NFTs that opened up a new way of trading digital IP. We want to bridge the gap between e-sports and sports, providing high physical movement to our users inside the digital world through the application of leading edge technologies,”said Cristobal Baixas.

“We’re excited for InBattle’s arena opening in Wynwood in the next couple of weeks. This is an important milestone for Miami’s continued growth in the eSports space, allowing our city to be recognized as a leader in the industry,” said James Kohnstamm, Executive Vice President, Miami-Dade Beacon Council. “For The Beacon Council, this project not only represents more jobs and capital investments to the community, but also talent development as InBattle partnered with Miami Dade College’s MAGIC program (Miami Animation & Gaming International Complex) to support students as mentors using a hands-on approach.”

In addition, the company also mentioned they will be moving its headquarters to Miami. “The decision to move our development offices to Miami in the coming months is to increase our community engagement through our collaboration with Miami Dade College and the mentorship program at MDC MAGIC; and through the development of institutional training programs with the City using immersive full body movement VR technology,” added Cristobal.  “This will be our flagship location and will be the first of many arenas that we will roll out throughout the United States. We will create a network of arenas for teams to train and compete for local tournaments at the beginning and then national championships,” added Cristobal.
