(Miami, FL – September 19, 2016) – The Miami-Dade Beacon Council announced the appointment of Sheldon Anderson, a past Chair of the organization and respected community leader, to serve as Interim President & CEO until a permanent replacement for outgoing President & CEO Larry Williams is hired. Anderson will serve as an advisor to the official economic development partnership until Williams’ departure in late October. The organization also announced the creation of a search committee, representative of Miami-Dade’s business community, to recruit a new President & CEO.
“The formation of the search committee and naming of an Interim President is an important step in the process for a smooth transition that ensures continuity for the organization and commitment to our mission of growing jobs and increasing investment in Miami-Dade County,” said Chairman Ernie Diaz. The committee will be led by Jaret Davis, Chair-Elect of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

The Miami-Dade Beacon Council has requested proposals from executive search firms with a national reputation on economic development and a strong knowledge of the local community.
The search for a new President & CEO began on September 1 after Williams announced his plans to become CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia.
