Miami-Dade Beacon Council Names 2017 Board of Directors

    (Miami, FL) Sept. 29, 2016 –  The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, a public-private partnership whose mission is to increase jobs and investment, announces its 2017 Board of Directors and Officers. The leadership group includes many of Miami’s most well-known business leaders and representatives of the community’s successful small businesses, and leading government officials.

    “Economic development, diversification and job creation are among my top priorities,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. “As the County’s official economic-development partner, the Miami-Dade Beacon Council is critical to our community’s continued growth, and I look forward to working with the new Board of Directors to create an even better community for all Miamians.”

    “We are grateful to this esteemed group of individuals for their commitment to Miami-Dade County’s future economic success,” said Miami-Dade Beacon Council Chair Ernie Diaz, Regional President for TD Bank in Florida. 

    Miami-Dade Beacon Council Chair-Elect and Co-Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office Jaret L. Davis said: “I look forward to working with the dynamic group of leaders on this year’s Board of Directors. Together we will tackle the important role of helping to guide our future economic development strategic plan for Miami-Dade County.”

    Davis added, “Our County and our economy are at an important crossroads. The steps we take in 2017 will go a long way toward determining our ultimate destiny as a community.”
