It was “Back to the Future” for the Beacon Council on Wednesday afternoon, as the economic development organization celebrated 30 years of bringing opportunity to Miami-Dade County.
About 500 people packed the Hilton Miami Airport to honor the group’s leaders over the past three decades, as well as install a new leader, Ernie Diaz, who is the 2015-2016 chair.

Since 1985, the Beacon Council takes credit for assisting more than 984 companies, creating more than 65,000 direct jobs, retaining more than 19,000 jobs and adding more than $4.59 billion in new investment capital to the community.
