Board Additions Reflect Strengthened Public-Private Leadership Across Core Growth Sectors
MIAMI, FL – March 10, 2026 – The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the County’s official public-private economic development partnership, today announced the appointment of nine new members to its Board of Directors. The appointments follow its 2025 Annual Meeting and come in The Beacon Council 40th year of advancing economic development in Miami-Dade County. The newly appointed members bring diverse experience across business, finance, government, healthcare, international trade, real estate, and community leadership, reflecting the dynamic public-private landscape.
The following leaders have joined the 2025-2026 Board of Directors:
- Hernan Albamonte, Director of Local Government Affairs, Philip Morris International
- Jorge Arrizurieta, President & Chief Executive Officer, Coral Cables Chamber of Commerce
- Jenn Baez, Director, Community Impact Operations, Knight Foundation
- Honorable Bryan Calvo, Mayor, City of Hialeah
- Honorable Eileen Higgins, Mayor, City of Miami
- Michael Nursey, SEVP, Chief Domestic Banking Officer, Amerant Bank
- Jose Perdomo, Senior Vice President, Operations & Infrastructure, Nicklaus Children’s Health System
- Joel Hassman Samuels, Executive Vice President, Academic Affairs and Provost, University of Miami
- Travis Sullivan, Vice President and General Manager, Boeing Distribution Services
