Results to be announced at 2025 Annual Meeting on Feb. 3, 2026
MIAMI, FL (January 28, 2026) – The Miami-Dade Beacon Council (MDBC), the County’s official public-private economic development partnership, will convene business, civic, and community leaders on February 3, 2026, to celebrate its 40thAnniversary at its 2025 Annual Meeting, presented by American Airlines. Highlighting a record-setting year of economic growth and strategic momentum that is positioning Greater Miami for long-term competitiveness, the session will be held in the Skylight Room of Miami’s iconic Freedom Tower.
“We delivered a record $1.2 billion in capital investment because companies trust Miami-Dade to turn momentum into outcomes,” said Rodrick T. Miller, President & CEO, Miami-Dade Beacon Council. “As we enter our 40th year, our mandate is clear: bring investment, build resilience, and position this market for what comes next. These results reflect leadership, intention, and work done at scale.”
Across the board, 2025 ranked among The Beacon Council’s strongest years on record for projects, jobs, capital investment, and square footage absorbed. More than 100 companies worked with The Beacon Council to expand or relocate to Greater Miami, committing to 3,070 new jobs and $1.2 billion in new capital investment. This will contribute $1.96 billion annually to Greater Miami’s gross regional product (GRP). With an average salary of $86K, these companies will also generate $27.7 million in annual tax revenue for Miami-Dade County, providing critical support for public services and infrastructure.
“Economic development is central to delivering an economy that works for all—one that welcomes innovation, prepares our workforce for the future, supports small businesses, and empowers residents to thrive,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Through our partnership with The Beacon Council, we are creating quality jobs, strengthening key industries, and expanding opportunity across Miami-Dade County. As The Beacon Council marks its 40th year, I am proud to continue our work together through STRIVE305 and the Risk & Resilience Tech Hub to build a stronger, more resilient local economy.”
The year also advanced a forward-looking workforce strategy through Talent Bridge, a workforce development project which garnered support from more than 200 companies and secured The Beacon Council’s first–ever $1 million legislative appropriation. These results were reinforced by increased private investment, which rose 56 percent over the past two years and enhanced regional collaboration across Miami-Dade County, building on The Beacon Council’s long-standing engagement with the region’s largest municipalities. The Cities of North Miami and North Miami Beach became the first municipalities to formally join The Beacon Council as partner investors signaling a deeper, more durable and strategic model of city-led economic development.
“Serving as Board Chair has been a profound privilege. Together, we strengthened The Beacon Council’s foundation, grew private-sector contributions, and reignited the Beacon Awards to spotlight Miami-Dade’s boldest innovators,” said outgoing Chair JC Liscano, Vice President of MIA Operations atAmerican Airlines, who successfully led the organization through the development of its 5-Year Strategic Plan. “At American Airlines’ Miami hub, I see every day how vision and collaboration turn ambition into achievement. The Beacon Council is charting a course toward a future defined by opportunity, resilience, and shared prosperity—and Iam confident that journey has only just begun.”
