The Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the county’s official public-private economic development partnership, is pleased to announce the recipient of the prestigious 2018 Jay Malina Award is Adolfo Henriques. A respected businessman and community leader and longtime banker in Miami, he currently serves as Vice Chairman of The Related Group and Chairman of the Board of Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust after holding numerous positions at many of Miami’s most recognizable financial institutions.

Ashton Kutcher’s VC firm, Sound Ventures, believes there’s opportunity for investment outside of Silicon Valley. Specifically, the firm pegs Denver, Austin and Miami as the most promising U.S. markets for tech startups and investing, outside of the large markets like Silicon Valley and New York, of course.

The Beacon Council Economic Development Foundation is pleased to announce the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of the Talent Bridge Miami Portal. This regional platform will strengthen employer engagement, improve resident access to high-quality training opportunities, and align educational and community partners around measurable workforce outcomes. Qualified firms with expertise in data-intensive, AI-enabled platforms are encouraged to apply.
This initiative is a central component of Miami-Dade County’s talent and competitiveness strategy and represents an important investment in the region’s long-term workforce infrastructure.
