Miami-Dade County Finishes Year with Encouraging Unemployment Figures
In November 2021, all 24 metro areas in Florida had over-the-year job gains. The areas with the largest gains were Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford (+91,500 jobs, +7.7 percent), Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater (+72,000 jobs, +5.3 percent), and Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall (+70,100 jobs, +6.2 percent).
Miami-Dade County’s Unemployment Rate Drops to 3.8%, Lowest Since October 2020
Miami-Dade County continues experiencing economic growth as local companies are growing and companies from other parts of the United States, as well as from abroad move their operations to Miami-Dade County. This October’s unemployment report shows that the unemployment rate decreased to 3.8% compared to 8.5% in October of 2020. The unemployment rate decreased by 1.9%, from 5.7% in September 2021 to 3.8% in October 2021.

The Beacon Council Economic Development Foundation is pleased to announce the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the development of the Talent Bridge Miami Portal. This regional platform will strengthen employer engagement, improve resident access to high-quality training opportunities, and align educational and community partners around measurable workforce outcomes. Qualified firms with expertise in data-intensive, AI-enabled platforms are encouraged to apply.
This initiative is a central component of Miami-Dade County’s talent and competitiveness strategy and represents an important investment in the region’s long-term workforce infrastructure.
